Our History

In 1927, 3 families followed God's call to start a Gospel preaching church in North Decatur.

Believing that God wanted to accomplish great things in the Decatur, the Walter Smith, Eli James, and Theodore Wright families stepped out on faith and planted the Heritage Baptist Church at 321 Newsome Road.

For over 90 years, the truth of God's Word has been preached and lived in the Decatur community through the ministry of HBC. To God be the glory!
